I stayed two nights at M-Star Cedar City. I was traveling by myself on a hiking trip to Zion National Park. Naturally, I wasn't looking to spend a lot, and I needed somewhere safe and comfortable after two full days of hiking. This motel fit the bill perfectly! I called in advance to let them know that I would be arriving late, and they informed me that this was no problem. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a smile, and check in was prompt. My room was SIGNIFICANTLY bigger than I anticipated, and it looked as if the bathroom was recently remodeled. I am a bit of a diva when it comes to beds. I honestly found their bed and pillows to be some of the most comfortable that i've ever slept on. I will actively seek out this motel the next time i'm in the area. Thank you M-Star!

Prima!

This hotel makes me wish there was a six star option for extra special places. The hotel is fantastic on its own, and absolutely exceptional considering the price. The room is clean with strong WiFi and great cable (my most important factors). In addition, it's very obvious that the owners take genuine pride in this place, and focus on making sure every single detail is in order. The owner even called me two hours after I checked in to make sure everything was in good order. The towels were fluffy, the bed was huge, the sheets were clean, the fridge and microwave worked, the coffee maker in my room was in good order, and the free breakfast was much better than normal continental breakfasts. Wow.

My standards are often low when staying at a 2-star hotel, but the Magnuson Hotel Cedar City definitely exceeded any expectations. The building is older, but the renovations inside make it shine. The room was very clean and in wonderful condition. The bed was honestly one of the most comfortable I've slept in for a 2 star hotel. However, what was most surprising was the bathroom. In cheaper hotels these are usually the scariest part, however this one felt like I stepped into a much fancier hotel. Beautiful tile and appliances, incredibly spotless with none of the usual water damage, sketchy caulking, or stained surfaces. The bathroom was honestly nicer than some Hiltons I've stayed at.
I would note that it appears that not all rooms have these renovations, but I didn't have any complaints about my room.

Maybe from a fast glance, one could be skeptical. BUT after checking in and looking around, I don’t know why you wouldn’t stay here! The building is old, but they’ve done a great job renovating. It’s freshly painted, the reception area is nice and checking in was quick. Once we got to the room, we were further impressed. There is free parking, wifi, and breakfast (hard boiled eggs, cereal, waffles). The bed was very comfy and they have a mini fridge and microwave. They charge a 50 dollar deposit that is refunded if there are no issues with the condition of the room when you leave. I would stay here again if I were ever coming through. For 58 dollars (that’s the final price including taxes) you can’t beat it.

I love The Magnuson. I’ve gone there multiple times a year If family needs to come in town, it’s dead center In the middle of Cedar city, so you really don’t have more than a two minute drive anywhere you need to go. I’ve had so many different memories there that I don’t even go anywhere else. It’s simple and it’s perfect size for different families or singles and big dog at the front counter is always there to help . One time I was having relationship issues and he was constantly coming over to my room to check on me to make sure I was OK. And then he made me leave lol. But in a good way. He gave me some advice and sent me packing so I could go home and fix things between me and my wife. He’s a good dude.

M Star offered clean rooms, prompt service, a light continental breakfast and great rates. They accommodated our needs with a large family and last minute reservations. Given the age, rates, and reviews I had to be blunt and directly asked about bed bugs and the cleanliness of the motel. They reserved the room for me and allowed us to preview the room prior to actually paying for it. I tore apart the beds and inspected the room. To my surprise the room was very clean. The mattresses had multiple layers of protection against bed bugs. No bugs were found during our stay. The motel was presumably built in the 60's, all the more reason I am so impressed with way they have maintained the building and the cleanliness of the rooms. They offered a nice continental breakfast, had prompt service, clean rooms, and great rates. I would definitly stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at this little hotel in downtown Cedar City recently. We were returning to AZ from MT and we were unable to find a hotel along I-15 anywhere past Salt Lake City. As my husband drove south, I made about a dozen phone calls until I got in touch with Magnuson Hotel. The woman on the phone was very helpful and reserved their one remaining room for me with a $50 credit card deposit. It was almost midnight when we checked in but the young man behind the counter was very pleasant and helpful, even going so far as to walk to our room with me when the key wouldn't work. The room was very clean and recently remodeled. The bed was huge and comfortable, the room was well lit, and spotless. It was surprisingly quiet and low key. Even though we only stayed long enough to sleep, I was quite pleased with the hotel. We would definitely stay there again. Great experience!

I stayed here a while back but I decided I should leave a review. The rooms aren’t anything spectacular. I remember the light in the bathroom wouldn’t work when I stayed. That being said, this place saved my trip. The hotel I had originally booked claimed to have after hours check in available but when I got there nobody was there to let me check in and nobody would answer the phone either. I frantically called nearby hotels and Magnuson said they could accommodate. When I arrived at 4 am I was taken care of immediately. They were very transparent over the phone and in person about fees and prices. A great experience with them for sure. If I’m in Cedar City again I know where I’ll stay!

Muy economico, buen desayuno gratis. Muy accesible. Las habitaciones estan limpias, estacionamiento muy amplio y gratis; y lo mejor de todo fue la atencion que recibimos. Lo recomiendo.

Service Dog Friendly and Handicap accessible. Weekly rates. RV and large vehicle parking. Breakfast every morning. On site Washer/Dryer/Ice Machine. Fast and reliable internet. Rooms were designed with common sense. Very clean rooms. No stained carpets or furniture. Everything works in the rooms. Modern appliances,TV, Cable, microwave, fridge. Plenty of outlets for electronic devices. A/C-Heat unit actually works silent with no odor. This staff changes the A/C filters. Management and staff are professionals in hospitality. For the weeks I spent here I observed the staff making constant improvements. Close to grocery store, library, coffee shop, city park. This hotel is a hidden gem of the Cedar City motel/hotel industry. After staying in four of the budget motels in close proximity, this is the ONLY hotel/motel I would recommend to family, friend, or strangers. Old school hospitality!

For a room (room 122, single king) that cost less than $60/night, I was very impressed. The room was clean and recently remodeled, though not expertly. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked well. Plenty of TV channels, nice mini fridge and microwave. There was a bit of street noise, but no more than other hotels I've stayed in. The wifi was quite good. The breakfast in the morning was self-serve and included waffles, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, milk, toast, jam, pastries, coffee, juice, and vitamin water. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and I'll stay here again in the future.

We had booked 4 rooms! We didn't had much expectations as it was with very low price...yes around $55 per room :). However rooms were nice, neat, clean and there were really NO-SMOKING rooms, no bad smell at all. Staff was very friendly, welcoming and professional, willing to help for all questions.
Room also had nice office chair, which I found very useful as I was working on laptop on the table. Everything (TV, Fridge, Phone, Wifi, Microwave) was clean and working smoothly. My room was specious and had extra space near window. Bed was comfortable.
Also there is seat-out between each 2 rooms. So if you have spare time in the evening/morning you can actually sit out and enjoy evening/morning coffee. :)
The breakfast in the morning was self-served and included may varieties. When I asked extra comforter, they provided new one immediately and without charging any extra money...voila!! My all friends were happy with this booking.
What more you can ask in this price!! Extremely recommended!

I stayed 4/7/2024 night on the way to home from Las Vegas after stop by Snow Canon and Kolob. It is wonderful hotel, much more than expected. Some told Bed is too soft but harder for me and I like firmer one. It has micro, refrig(silent), iron. One more good thing is my room has many table top : office desk, under tv above drawers, bistro, two side tables even top of refrig.. I never use Drawers not to forget anything. Parking is for a motel(a few feet away from door) and the interior tells a hotel.

Great location in Cedar City, walking distance to any local coffee shop, restaurant/bar, game store, book store, and brewery you could want or need. My husband and I were stuck here because our car broke down in Duck Creek Village, and the lady working the front desk was very gracious and understanding of our situation. She held our luggage for us after we checked out and had to wait 5 hours for our car to be done at the shop across the street. All in all, it was a good place to be stuck. GREAT QUALITY FOR THE PRICE. Would recommend!!

Pros: Close to downtown main street, well lit parking lot, friendly and helpful staff, clean room, comfortable bed, excellent water pressure, affordable, nice size tv, no noise (it was memorial day weekend and I didn't hear anything from inside our room).
Neutral: shower only, no tub, small bathroom sink, curtains not blackout, checkout at 10am, breakfast until 9am,
Cons: no tissue box in room, small parking lot with tricky left turn- maybe go around the block for safer entry.
We stayed in the deluxe king room and it exceeded our expectations.

The outside gave us a pit in our stomach when we pulled up. However, we were pleasantly surprised. We found a sale for 37$ a night and we got what we needed.
Our room was recently renovated with new furniture. The service was good. We had waffles for breakfast which was the only real good choice available other than fruit loops and muffins. But I do love those hotel waffles!
This is a 'two star' hotel, but I feel like we got more than that. Five stars.

I was bit sceptical when I booked for this place. But when I actually went there, all my worries and fear passed by. Owner of this place is really very friendly. They do take efforts to make sure you are receiving good service. Rooms are fantastic. I am surprised how affordable they have been priced.
Do not go by external appearance of this place. It looks bit off outside; but inside and service it totally awesome. I definitely reccomend this place.

Great little place, sure its old, but it served its purpose. Great price, Great shower (which is like my morning coffee) and internet was good, had a blip with it, but they fixed it right away (new system they were figuring out) I am assuming man behind the counter was owner, very friendly and worried about how my stay was. Didn't try the breakfast, buddy came and took me out. Will stay here again should the need arise

Great place , great price and excellent service. The lobby is very well decorated. The manager, Mr. Chirag Mehta was extremely helpful and he checked us in super fast as we were very tired and wanted to settle in room quickly. The room and bed was very comfortable and definitely we will stay over at this motel again and again whenever we are traveling to Utah and will recommend to friend and family.

This place has been here for YEARS so I was surprised and completely shocked at how beautiful and nice it is now. The new owners seem to have experience and history in hotel management because they know what customers like and how to run a hotel They have done a amazing job at remodeling the entire place. !!! They a re still working on some of the rooms but talk about a makeover. !! This is a great find and worth the price.
